TBR — Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl has been moved to the top of my to be read pile.

A few of my girlfriends loved it, and are insisting I read this book ASAP before the movie comes out on February 14th. Looks like I’ll have plans with my girls on Valentine’s Day!! Yay me!

From Goodreads

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Ohhhhh, “….one secret could change everything.” I’m very intrigued by this story being told from Ethan’s POV, so we are discovering Lena’s world through his eyes. Different.

Who’s read this book? There are mixed reviews.

  1. Just read this last week. It was good, but to me wasn’t amazing. It was interesting from Ethan’s POV. I will be seeing the movie though and maybe it will spur me to read the rest. I will be curious to discuss with you when you finish :):) Happy Reading!

  2. I just got this from the library, but I’ve got a mile-high TBR pile at the moment, so I don’t know where this will fit in. I do want to see the movie, despite the mixed reviews. But gotta read the book first!

  3. Hey Stephanie, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
I also have a huge TBR pile. Putting the Lux series on hold to read Beautiful Creatures was not easy. 😉
I may have, possibly, inadvertently, unintentionally (it’s too early to think of any more adverbs!! HA!) not enjoyed this book as much as I would have if I hadn’t stopped a series I LOVE to read it.
BOOO! I will come back to this book another time. Give it another shot. SO many people I know absolutely loved it!

    Thanks again, Stephanie!
