My name is Kristin, just Kristin; like Madonna or Cher (sans the numerous husbands, fame, money and killer wardrobe). I’m married with an eight year old daughter and I was born, raised and currently live in a suburb of Chicago. I love to read and I’m not ashamed to admit I often lose myself in a book, losing total track of time, and occasionally obsess over the swoon-worthy males in said books; my list of book boyfriends is growing rapidly. I think my husband is starting to get jealous.
I can talk for hours about a book or character I love like they’re real people that I know personally. Just ask Gabi, I have, on more than one occasion, shared my ramblings with her. I’m always looking for a new book or series to read and I’m pretty open-minded when it comes to the type of book I’ll read. So when Gabi asked if I’d be interested in writing reviews for her blog, I jumped at the chance to be able to talk about books.
I don’t do “star” ratings; as a reader, I find them deceiving. One person’s five star rating is another person’s three star rating and vice versa. So I’m just going to share what I liked, loved and/or hated about the books I’ve read. Negative reviews, when written respectfully, help authors become better writers and I’ve found most appreciate the honesty. I want my reviews to be fun and as I get more comfortable, I’m hoping to make it an interactive review blog; a modern day book club where we can have open discussions and healthy debates.
Thank you Gabi for giving me this opportunity and I hope everyone enjoys reading my reviews as much as I enjoy writing them.
